According to information from the 9to5Google website, the termination of ‘Driving Mode‘ on Google Maps is scheduled for February 2024.
The feature provided a home screen with a map, media suggestions, audio controls, and shortcuts for calls and text messages, in a faster and more intuitive way for the driver while driving.
Although it’s not clear how Maps plans to replace the function, according to the 9to5Google discovery, a line of code found by the site indicates the use of Google Assistant to make calls, send messages, or play media while driving. Check it out:
